    WHAT IS MISO?

The Ancient Japanese Secret to Health and Longevity

At the heart of Tsubi Soup is miso - a traditional Japanese ingredient made by master crafters in Kyoto, Japan for six generations.

We use only the highest grade Non-GMO soybeans blended with Koji (Aspergillus oryzae), a natural catalyst for the magical fermentation process that transforms soybean paste into the delicious and nutritious miso paste we use in our soups.

Our three plant-based blends are carefully crafted to complement the unique toppings in each flavor, ensuring a delicious and satisfying soup every time. During the fermentation process, probiotics and enzymes naturally occur, aiding in long-term digestive health and balance of good bacteria in your gut. Miso is also rich in natural vitamins B's, K's, and E's, as well as minerals, making it a nutritious choice for any meal.

To ensure the best possible taste and quality, our miso is left to mature for 3 to 12 months in a cool environment, allowing the flavors to develop and intensify. And with its delightful taste and numerous health benefits, it's no wonder they say, MI-SO Happy!

    BUT ISN'T MISO SOUP PLANT-BASED?

    Cruelty Free and Planet Friendly

This is a common misconception. Miso soup is not plant-based or vegan due to the traditional use of dashi, a stock made from fish and seafood. Dashi is a crucial component in the making of miso soup, ramen, udon broths and soba. However, at Tsubi Soup, we have crafted a plant-based broth that simmers wild seaweed and shiitake mushrooms to create a deep, hearty umami flavor, without the use of fish or seafood. This ensures that no animals are harmed in the making of our soup.

    IS THERE TOO MUCH SALT?

    Compare Our Numbers

We understand that many people are concerned about their sodium intake and we want to assure you that Tsubi Soup is a great choice for those looking for a lower sodium option miso soup. While miso does require salt to begin the fermentation process, our soups contain an average of only 440 milligrams of sodium per serving, which is less than half of what you would find in many other instant soups. We have carefully selected the best ingredients, without overloading them with salt, to bring you a delicious and satisfying flavor that comes naturally from our miso and vegetables. We believe that eating healthy doesn't mean sacrificing taste, and Tsubi Soup is a perfect example of that. We invite you to give it a try and taste the difference for yourself!

    MISO HAPPY

THE SECRET TO HEALTH AND LONGEVITY

Japan has the world’s highest life expectancy rate thanks in large part to their diet, and one of Japan’s greatest superfoods – miso – has played a major role in everyday Japanese cuisine for centuries. Miso is a fermented soybean paste that is rich in probiotics and other essential nutrients that offer numerous health benefits.

Tsubi Soup uses the highest quality NON-GMO soybeans that have been carefully fermented at a century-old miso maker in Kyoto, a region famous for its ancient miso crafting skills. Our three special blends have been tried and tested to complement the unique ingredients in each flavor.

Miso is a complete protein, meaning it contains all essential amino acids, making it a great source of protein for vegetarians and vegans. It is also rich in B vitamins, which are essential for energy production, and antioxidants, which are great for anti-aging mechanisms and cell regeneration.

The fermentation process involved in making miso produces enzymes that aid in digestion and helps to balance the healthy bacteria in your gut, promoting good gut health. Miso also contains a variety of beneficial microorganisms that help to boost your immune system, lower your risk of infections, and reduce inflammation in your body.

Miso is also a low-calorie food that can help with weight management. It is a great alternative to traditional seasonings that are high in sodium and can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.

In summary, miso is a nutrient-dense superfood that offers a wide range of health benefits. Incorporating miso into your diet, like in Tsubi Soup, can help to support your overall health and wellbeing.

    BENEFITS OF FREEZE-DRYING

    JAPANESE TECHNOLOGY AT ITS BEST

    1. Long Shelf Life: Freeze-dried food has an incredibly long shelf life. This is because the freeze-drying process removes moisture from the food, which inhibits the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms that cause food spoilage.

    2. Retains Nutrients: Freeze-drying preserves the nutritional content of the food. The process of freeze-drying involves removing the water content from the food, but it doesn't remove the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that are present in the food.

    3. Lightweight and Portable: Freeze-dried food is lightweight and easy to transport, making it a popular choice for outdoor enthusiasts, backpackers, and emergency responders. Since freeze-dried food is dehydrated and lightweight, it is easy to pack and transport without adding excess weight to your backpack.

    4. Convenient and Easy to Prepare: Freeze-dried food is convenient and easy to prepare. It typically only requires the addition of hot water and a few seconds of waiting time. This makes it a popular choice for busy individuals who want a quick and easy meal.

    5. Environmentally Friendly: Freeze-dried food is environmentally friendly because it requires less packaging than other types of food. Since freeze-dried food has a long shelf life, it doesn't require as much packaging as fresh food, which reduces waste. Additionally, freeze-drying uses less energy than other methods of food preservation, making it a more sustainable option.
